Eamon is an Australian Trumpeter currently performing and traveling around Europe. He has received numerous awards and honours including nominations for the 2010 and 2011 Young Australian of the Year in the Jazz Bell Awards, 2011 Siena Jazz Scholarship, 2010 Big Brother Movement Scholarship for studies in London, top scholarship from the Umbria Jazz Clinics to Berklee College of Music, Boston and was a 2007 James Morrison Scholarship finalist.
Eamon recently completed a Bachelor of Music (Jazz)at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and his musical journey began with trumpet at 8 years old followed by brief pursuits in Violin, French Horn and Double Bass. From 15 he was performing professionally at Sydney Jazz Club Soup Plus and various venues around Sydney.
Throughout his studies he has had the opportunities to perform in Europe and America (Australian All star Big Band), New Zealand and Hong Kong (Pan Pacific Big Band), and Perth with Sydney hip-hop outfit Kid Confucius featuring performances at many jazz festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Thredbo Jazz Festival, Montreax Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Dubbo Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, Jazzgroove Futures Festival, as well as Splendour in the Grass with popular act The Beautiful Girls.
Eamon has had the opportunity to perform with Nigel Kennedy (UK), Dale Barlow, James Morrison, John Morrison, Dan Barnett, Dave Panichi, James Muller and Sandy Evans. He has performed concerts in Europe in London, Vienna, Milan and Bucharest as well as Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide at such international venues Porgy and Bess (Austria), George Enescu Museum (Romania), The Basement (Sydney) and Bennetts Lane Jazz Club (Melbourne).
2010/11 saw Eamon nominated twice for Young Australian Jazz Musician of The Year in the Bell Awards, Recipient of the Big Brother Foundation Scholarship for travel to London and winner of the top scholarship for study at Berklee College of music in Boston. Most recently he was rewarded a scholarship to return to the Siena Jazz Workshop in July 2012. In 2011 attendance at the workshop he studied and performed with Dave Douglas, Avishai Cohen, Ference Nemeth, Kenny Werner and Claudio Fasoli.
In 2009 Eamon’s band “The Dilworths” released their debut album entitled “Introducing The Dilworths” on Jazzgroove records and launched the CD with a highly successful gig at The Basement supported by the great pianist Judy Bailey. The Dilworths began touring in 2010 with performances at SIMA, 505, Bennett’s Lane as part of the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival, Adelaide, Brisbane, Port Macquarie and culminating with their debut at the Wangarratta Jazz Festival.
Eamon’s travels has studied privately in New York with Laurie Frink, Brian Lynch, Lew Soloff, Ambrose Akinmusire and Jim Rotundi as well as regular in Australia with Phil Slater, Warwick Alder, Scott Tinkler, Judy Bailey, Mike Nock, Matt McMahon and Dale Barlow.
